GEOSCAN-M

Mineral processing plants perform best when feed quality is stable and variability is visible early. GEOSCAN-M continuously measures the elemental composition of the full conveyed ore stream, giving operators the information needed to stabilise feed quality, improve blending, support diversion decisions and reduce the impact of ore variability on downstream processing.

Key Benefits

Maintain consistent feed quality to beneficiation and downstream processes

Reduce reliance on delayed laboratory results

Detect and respond to ore variability early

Enable data driven operational decisions

Support stable blending and stockpile management

Proven Performance

The GEOSCAN-M is deployed globally across minerals operations, delivering reliable performance in demanding environments.

Continuous operation in harsh mining conditions.

No wear parts, resulting in low maintenance requirements.

Proven performance across a wide range of ore types.

Supported by a global service and support network.

Technology

The GEOSCAN-M uses Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis (PGNAA) to measure elemental composition across the full conveyed flow of ore and concentrates.

This approach enables representative measurement of the entire material stream, rather than rely ing on discrete or surface samples.

The system delivers consistent performance regardless of particle size. segregation or surface effects, providing reliable data for operational control in minerals processing environments.

Applications

Typical applications within minerals operations include:

  • Run-of-mine (ROM) feed monitoring
  • Stockpile building and reclaim control
  • Loadout and grade control
  • Bulk diversion based on ore quality

Role in Process Control

The GEOSCAN-M operates as part of a broader measurement and control strategy within minerals operations.

It enables:

  • Feed-forward control of downstream processing (crushing, grinding, separation)
  • Feedback control of upstream blending and stockpile management
  • Continuous decision support for operators managing ore variability

Unique Capabilities

  • Customised specification for different applications
  • Measurement times 30 seconds, 2 minutes (standard) to 10 minutes, or longer
  • Custom calibrations developed for specific materials and operating requirements
  • Measures elements such as carbon, aluminium and magnesium accurately
  • Measures phosphorus in iron ore to 0.01% P
  • Measures elements to lower detection levels over shorter measurement times
  • Proven on steel corded and chlorine containing conveyors
  • Non-contact with conveyor or material
