COALSCAN 1500

The COALSCAN 1500 is an economical on-line ash monitoring system which is easily installed directly under production conveyor belts.

The system does not contain any nucleonic sources and therefore does not require a radiation licence for its use.

The COALSCAN 1500 is ideally suited to the measurement of ash in applications with thick coal beds such as on raw coal conveyors and plant feed conveyors. This is the only technology which can easily measure ash content when bed depths are very thick, in fact, precision improves with bed depth. This system is also ideal for applications with variable ash chemistry, (such as multiple seam operations with highly variable iron or calcium content between or within seams).

The major features of the COALSCAN 1500 include:

  • Easy installallation and simple operation
  • No radiation sources - no requirement for licensing
  • Underbelt configuration - suitable for raw coal and high tonnage applications
  • Fully automatic operation - no operator intervention required
  • No mechanical moving parts - low maintenance costs
  • Automatic electronic stability checks - drift free performance
  • No operational upper limit to coal size or coal bed depth
  • Flexible system interface to suit specific site requirements
  • Non contact technique - no high wear components
  • Superior total cost of ownership
  • Designed for long product lifecycle

Note that this same technology is available for gold applications (GOLDSCAN), sugar cane applications (CANESCAN) and iron ore applications (IRONSCAN).
