Scantech is very pleased to recognize that Nikita Simakov, the Adelaide University Honours Physics student whom Scantech sponsored this year via the annual Playford Trust, achieved a First Class Honours degree. His project involved tuning lasers for telescope guidance. In addition, he presented his project at the 2009 ACOLS conference (Australasian Conference on Optics, Lasers and Spectroscopy) and his project won first prize for innovative research, beating post-graduate applicants.
